2. Remind them that you are there if they ever need to talk, and they will have your full attention.

A lot of us have loved ones in our lives that we know are there for us, but a reminder never hurts. Amongst the haste of a busy work schedule and personal life, we tend to get lost in our thoughts and forget that we have support systems to help us. Reach out to those you support and remind them you are there for them.

3. Do something little but thoughtful for them—like clean up after Thanksgiving dinner!

Small acts of kindness go a long way and create an avalanche effect for more good in the world. With Thanksgiving right around the corner, now would be a good time to see how you can help participate and make the holiday season that much more special!

4. Give them something of yours that you think they would enjoy, and let them know specifically why you want them to have it.

A lot of us tend to live in abundance when it comes to possessions. If you have something that gets little to no use, think about someone you care about who would get better use out of it. This is a gesture of kindness that good people will not forget.

3. Name something you admire about their commitment to their beliefs.

Commitment in all forms is to be respected. Show gratitude towards opposing views by commending them on their commitment to their beliefs and values.

4. Do not disregard their point by telling them they’re wrong.

Avoid red herrings by hearing the other person’s point, and avoiding personal attacks towards the messenger or even the people involved in the disagreement.

7 Ways to Show Gratitude for Yourself

1. Make a list of recent accomplishments and ways you have impressed yourself.

In the mix of overthinking, personal goals, and reflections, it is easy to forget all that we have accomplished to get to this point. Make a list of the things you have done that you are proud of, and make it a routine to check that list and remind yourself of how far you have come!

2. Treat yourself to something you enjoy.

Take the time to give yourself the endorphine boost you deserve. Whether it be a treat or an episode of your favorite show, make sure you thank yourself with something you enjoy.

3. If someone compliments you, accept the compliment and thank them.

Do not overthink or doubt any copliments that come your way. That defeats the purpose of spreading love and positivity. When someone compliments you, accept it graciously.

4. Remind yourself of the things that you feel you are good at, or are proud of.

We all have a unique skillset and set of talents that we bring to the table. Whether you feel those talents are being fully utilized yet or not, remind yourself of some of those things you are good at. A pat on the back never hurt anyone, no matter who it comes from! Often times, this reminding may even encourage you to return to that hobby you had!

Remind yourself what it meant to both of you for you to be able to give time, wisdom, or a gift to a loved one.

6. Be kind to yourself no matter how the day goes.

Quit overthinking whether you had a productive day or not. Sometimes the stress from the doubt and scrambled thoughts make our days even less productive! So stick to a system you trust, and make sure you are staying kind to yourself through the process. Be kind to yourself throughout the day, and do not be down on yourself when you miss the mark.

7. Bless loved ones with your presence
